Some officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were allegedly caught re-bagging rice donated by the government and other donors for the feeding of Internally Displaced Persons. When the story broke, Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima ordered an investigation into the theft in order to deal with those responsible. Editorials and reports were done on this in some Media outlets and the agency has now responded via a statement titled 'Re-bagging of IDPS rice'. It reads,

Gunmen attacked the iconic Radisson hotel in the Malian capital of Bamako on Friday. The attackers are believed to have taken hostages, according to a security sources. Automatic weapons fire could be heard from outside the luxury 190-room hotel, where security forces have set up a security cordon, according to witnesses. “A hostage-taking or attempted hostage-taking is in progress,” said FRANCE 24 correspondant Serge Daniel, reporting from Bamako. Daniel said that security forces had established a security perimeter around the hotel and that the hotel was “completely sealed off”. The identity of the attackers and their motives are not yet known. “It’s all happening on the seventh floor, jihadists are firing in the corridor,” a security source told AFP. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has denied claims by former NSA Sambo Dasuki that he awarded a $2 billion arms procurement contract while he was in office. Jonathan stated his position on the controversy surrounding arms procurement investigative panel, while speaking at a forum in Washington DC, yesterday November 19, 2015 “I did not award any $2 billion contract for procurement of weapons. Where did the money come from?” he said In a statement on Wednesday November 18th, Dasuki alleged that he bought some weapons worth over $2 billion which was approved by the former President. The man suspected of masterminding last Friday's Paris attacks that killed 129 people, was killed in the police raid north of Paris Wednesday, investigators confirmed.  Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, was the second person to die in the Saint-Denis raid, the French prosecutor's office reported Thursday. He was identified from skin samples.  Abaaoud had previously been linked to a string of thwarted attacks including the plot to kill passengers on a Paris-bound high-speed train in August, a plot that 3 young Americans helped foil. He claimed he successfully moved back and forth from Europe to Syria coordinating terror attacks, and narrowly escaped a January police raid in the Belgian city of Verviers. “Allah blinded their vision and I was able to leave... despite being chased after by so many intelligence agencies," he told the ISIS magazine Dabiq.

Thirteen ships laden with petrol, diesel, bulk gas and aviation fuel have arrived the Lagos ports, waiting to berth, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Wednesday in Lagos. This was contained in a document, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. The document indicated that 33 ships were being expected at the ports from Oct. 21 to Nov. 5. It said that 11 of the expected ships would arrive with frozen fish, bulk sugar, bulk wheat and bulk salt. The document noted that 10 ships would sail in with containers, while six others would sail in with general cargo. It added that diesel petrol, base oil, bulk gas and aviation fuel were expected in six ships.

The Economic and Finance Crime Commission (EFCC) Wednesday failed to produce the immediate past Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha in court barely 24 hour after they were picked up in Abuja. The Anti graffiti Agency had yesterday filed suit before a Federal High court, Kano accusing Lamido and his two sons of money laundering. However, the EFCC legal Director, Achile Okoroma told reporters at the Federal High Court premises that Sule Lamido’s absence alongside his two sons was due to cancellation of flight from Abuja. He assured that “baring any last minute change, Sule Lamido and his sons would be arranged Thursday”.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, for alleged money laundering-related offences. Investigations revealed that operatives of the anti-graft agency picked up the former governor and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu in Abuja. It was gathered that the anti-graft agency picked up the governor and his sons in the early hours of Tuesday. It was learnt that the EFCC leadership ordered a crack team of detectives to fly them to Kano by 2.30 pm preparatory to their arraignment for alleged fraud running into billions of naira.
