Lagos Bans Illegal LG Taskforce

The Lagos State Government has banned all local governments from setting up illegal environmental and traffic taskforce that extort money from members of the public. Several local governments across the state have established parallel taskforce and traffic officials who arrest motorists and extort between N20,000 and N30,000 from them for allegedly breaking traffic law.

Jay Z and Solange Both Take Blame for the Elevator Fight

Music stars release joint statement, "Families have problems and we’re no different." Solange and Jay Z have both taken responsibility for the 27-year-old singer fighting her brother-in-law in an elevator at New York's Standard Hotel after last week's Met Gala. In a statement to the Associated Press , the Knowles-Carter Crew maintained solidarity,  without going into detail over the cause of the physical altercation.  "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. Photos of abducted Chibok girls from new Boko Haram video

New video of dozens of abducted Chibok school girls has been released by Boko Haram. The girls, numbering about 130, said to be held at Sambisa forest, a border between Cameroon and Nigeria, are seen praying in Arabic in the video. In the video, Boko Haram leader said he's ready to do a deal to free some or all the girls. He said; "The girls you occupy yourselves with, we have liberated them...they are now Muslims. We will never release them unless our brethren are released. It's been 4/5 years you held our brethren and torturing them..and now you talk about these girls. Those who accept the faith, we'll treat them well. We will not release the girls until you free our brothers" Abubakar Shekau mentioned that the girls have been converted to Islam.
