A statement from the South African presidency said Mr Mandela, 94, had been admitted just before midnight. Mr Mandela spent 18 days in hospital in December undergoing treatment for a lung infection and gallstones. He is widely regarded as the father of the nation for leading the struggle against apartheid. Mr Mandela served as South Africa's first black president from 1994 to 1999. However, his health has caused concern for some time. A presidential spokesman told the BBC that Mr Mandela was conscious and was receiving the best possible medical treatment. "I think we need to be clear that the doctors are attending to Madiba [Mr Mandela] on a continuous basis," spokesman Mac Maharaj said. "They prefer to act on the side of caution, and the moment they felt there was a recurrence of the lung infection, they felt that it warranted immediate hospitalisation given his age and given his history." Former member of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Okah was on Tuesday jailed for 24 years by the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg. The embattled leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Okah “Effectively, the accused (Mr Okah) is therefore sentenced to 24 years imprisonment,” Judge Neels Claassen said as he handed down sentence. Prophet T.O Obadare aka Baba Obadare founder of the World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministries (WOSEM) is dead. Obadare, a blind Akure-based evangelist noted for the monthly Koseunti Crusade, died on Thursday at the age of 85 at an undisclosed private hospital in Akure, Ondo State. For some days now, the media has been over flooded with the phrase: "my oga at the top", which emanated from the live interview @channels_TV granted Mr. Shem Obafaiye, the Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps. (NSCDC). Whilst so many have chosen to turn this to a joke, I think it should be an eye opener for us. Now, let's glean some lessons from this; 1. Be very conversant with the happenings around you at all times. Ignorance can be deadly! 2. Regardless of your qualification, strive to possess a Sound Interpersonal Communication Skill (IPC).
