Nigerian Troops Recapture Damboa From Boko Haram

Few hours after Boko Haram sacked Gwoza, a town in Borno State near the border with Cameroon, a special Nigerian army unit of the 25 Tank Battalion today recaptured the town of Damboa from the Islamist insurgents.
Boko Haram militants had stormed Damboa on July 21, killing several hundred residents and soldiers before capturing the town, even planting their flags at several locations in the town.
A senior military source told SaharaReporters that troops today retook Damboa after a fierce battle in which soldiers killed several Boko Haram militants.
